About the teacher
With 10+ years of teaching experience, London-based clarinetist and bass clarinet specialist Stephanie tailors lessons to each student, fostering creativity and technical excellence. She teaches clarinet, saxophone, flute, and piano, providing a well-rounded musical foundation. Stephanie also prepares students for ABRSM and Trinity College London exams, building confidence and successful results.
As a performer, Stephanie has a versatile background, spanning orchestral, chamber, contemporary and film music. She has collaborated with world-renowned composers, including Claudio Ambrosini, Louis Andriessen, and Gunther Schuller, and has premiered numerous new works for clarinet and bass clarinet.
Stephanie has performed in prestigious venues such as Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, and Symphony Hall (USA), and has worked with ensembles including Ensemble Ugo, Boston New Music Initiative, and the Berklee Silent Film Orchestra. Her session work can be heard in films such as The Man Who Laughs, The Last Laugh, and the Jules Verne documentary Passage to Mars.
She holds an MMus in Clarinet Performance (Distinction) from Trinity Laban Conservatoire and a G.P.D. with an Auxiliary Specialization in Bass Clarinet from The Boston Conservatory. In 2023, she won the Wilfred Hambleton Clarinet Competition.
Stephanie’s teaching approach is engaging and student-focused, encouraging both technical development and musical expression. Whether guiding beginners or refining advanced players, she is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of musicians.
